National Retail Federal Foundation Case Study

Challenge: Provide models of successful utilization of skill standards in workforce development and education programs.

Activities: Created a framework for data collection, conducted interviews, and wrote profiles on retail training programs, including how the programs work, whom they serve, and elements critical to success – compiled into a monograph entitled "Retail Skill Standards at Work: Success Stories., a Best Practices Manual."

Result: Success Stories has been disseminated widely and is available on the NRF Foundation web site under research on the Foundation's page at www.nrf.com/content/foundation/skill.pdf.
