Challenge:
Create a job skills training program model
that could be replicated in shopping malls and urban downtown areas.
Activities:
Assisted in strategic planning and implementation
of three retail skills training centers. Interviewed merchants and
prospective participants on their needs. Researched and recommended
curriculum materials. Proposed strategies for integration of new
technology, contributed to tactical planning and strategy development
team. Created
implementation manuals based on all these activities so that future
centers could build on the experience of each implementation.
Result:
A desk reference for staff to use when developing
new sites. A reduction in lead-time required to develop each successive
training center.
